New idea in the making

I'm in the process of making a couple of crafty kits...the first one being this flower brooch.  I've had these on my list of things to do for months, but now I've got myself a new 'things to do today book' I'm actually getting more things done ;o)

I also made some melts today using petit fours cases instead of the silicon mould I usually use.  I think I like them...they certainly don't break now as I don't need to remove them from the cases.

New soap

Yesterday was a soap day (although I only managed to get two lots made as I had a little boy off school) where I made more Patchouli and Orange and then I made a new one - Calendula.  This one is very gentle, only having the dried flowers added.   It'll be ready on 22 June :o)

Prototypes - The Secret Project Revealed

"My partner and I are "Merit Clothiers"- and our idea is just that we want to acknowledge and inspire people to do good deeds- just like we did as children in scouts. We will be coming out with scout-inspired jackets and accessories that are specifically designed with spots to put your badges."

I am very excited to be able to show you the secret project I have been working on.  I was contacted at the beginning of May by Britt with an idea for 'merit' badges, and would I be able to make some prototypes..of course I jumped at the chance.  Britt sent over some images so I set to work on them...they took a bit of concentration as they are only 2 inches across, but it was great fun.  Bit of tweaking now required, but the joy of prototypes is that they are just that...prototypes.

Exciting times with William Blyth

The William Blyth centre is one of the old tile makers on the banks of the Humber which is currently being restored and turned into a craft centre with workshops for traditional crafts, a restaurant and shop.  There will be hands on workshops held throughout the year, and local crafts sold in the shop.  Such a fabulous honour to have been asked about stocking my soaps, scrubs and melts in the shop once it's all up and running.  There may even be some soapmaking workshops!

More info can be found in this local newspaper article, with more gorgeous piccies of the place.

Re-vamped Bunting

When I first started making bunting I would fasten it all together with twine.  I loved how it looked..nice and rustic..but then I got to thinking about how people would wash it!  So over the past week I have unpicked, re-ironed (shocking activity as I don't iron normally ;o) ), then trimmed, pinned and stitched it all back together with sensible bias binding.  They're back in the shop now :o)

Yesterday we had a day at a local Vdub show where I found this gorgeous basket.  I need one for a new shop venture which may take off in a couple of months and if it's not suitable for that I'll use it on the stall when I attend the fairs.  Oh, I've already booked my first for next year :o)
